If you prep your meals ahead of time as well you’re less likely to make unhealthy last minute food choices if you don’t have much time or can’t be bothered to cook.

When you’re calorie counting, skipping meals might seem like a good idea. Fewer calories = weight loss, right? But skipping meals can make your body go into starvation mode and start to store fat, which is the last thing you want. It makes it harder for you to burn calories too. Eating regular, small meals throughout the day is the best way to boost your metabolism and is one of the best ways to lose weight.
Tip 3. Don’t confuse thirst with hunger
It can be easy to confuse thirst with hunger. Your body can react in the same way when it’s dehydrated to when you’re hungry. If you’re feeling the hunger pangs, rather than heading straight to the kitchen cupboard, drink a glass of water instead and then see if you’re still hungry. Chances are, you were actually just thirsty.

If you’re trying to cut down on your potions, looking at a small amount of food on a large plate can leave you feeling like you’ve not eaten enough and could lead you to get seconds or snack more. Using a small plate instead and filling that up makes you feel like you’ve eaten enough and will leave you feeling satisfied.

Weight loss and a healthy lifestyle can be difficult at the start. Take a photo of yourself at the start and whenever you need a bit of motivation or you’re about to fall off the wagon, take a look at it. Seeing how far you’ve come already is likely to motivate you to persevere and keep going.

You might be eating healthier and consuming smaller portions, but if you’re still drinking all that juice or soft drinks then you’re still going to be consuming calories.
